Technology has fascinated me since I was 12, sparking my curiosity about how it can be integrated into the electronics we use daily. Growing up in my family’s business inspired me to become an entrepreneur. My goal was clear: I wanted to create products that were not only functional but also had the potential to genuinely enhance people’s lives.
At 23, after completing my MBA in 2022, I decided to turn this dream into reality by starting my own electronics brand—Ziblot. My mission with was straightforward: to create innovative and affordable gadgets tailored for Gen Z. Leveraging my industry connections, I established an efficient manufacturing process to deliver high-quality products at competitive prices.
From Vision to Product
At Ziblot, we focus on five key parameters that matter most to our customers—affordability, easy connectivity, a good microphone, a good speaker, and top-notch build quality.
Today, we have a portfolio of 13 SKUs, which includes Zi Heads, Zi Pods Pro, Zi Pods, Wireless Bluetooth Earbuds, ZiWatch One, and more. Among them, our hero products are the aluminum earbuds and smartwatches.
We recently launched an innovative product—the waterproof Zi Ring made of titanium. This unique wearable accurately monitors heart rate, fever, stress levels, and even sleep quality. Creating products that resonate with our customers and exceed their expectations is the driving force behind Ziblot.
Understanding Customers and Expanding Reach
Research has been a cornerstone of my journey. I invested time in studying the preferences of students in schools and colleges, which allowed us to enhance our products. For example, our next range of earbuds will offer a volume speed of up to 87 decibels, compared to the current 80 decibels.
I also learned a lot from evaluating competitors and seeking advice from experienced dealers who truly understand market trends. Catering to the 16-24 age group taught me that younger customers are more open to trying new brands, making this a key insight for our marketing strategy.
Initially, our website garnered great responses from South India and parts of Eastern India. But I was eager to scale pan-India.
Starting a venture alone can make you realize just how essential having a knowledgeable partner is. That’s when Walmart Vriddhi’s training program came into the picture. The program taught me crucial skills for running a business, especially increasing sales and reaching customers online.
The personalized mentoring sessions made a big difference. My mentor guided me through building a business plan, managing product costs, and time management. He emphasized the importance of budgeting and crafting well-structured contracts with dealers. With these new skills, I felt more equipped to lead Ziblot toward success.
We implemented innovative marketing ideas like corporate and festive gifting and sponsoring college events, which helped spread our brand story. We also expanded our influencer outreach and built a dedicated social media marketing team.
Walmart Vriddhi also helped me understand eCommerce better. After completing the program, our business witnessed a 400% growth in order volume—from 500 products in December 2023 to around 3,000 products by June 2024. This transformation showed me the importance of having an experienced partner to navigate the challenges of competing with established brands.
The program also taught me how to address product issues promptly, which has led to a loyal base of 70-80 repeat customers. Looking ahead, I plan to introduce more tech-enabled daily-use products like shoes, T-shirts, bags, and wallets, all integrated with advanced technologies like AI (Artificial Intelligence).
While developing electronics takes time, patience is key. My vision is to establish Ziblot as a reputable name in the Indian electronics industry and expand into exports within the next five years.
Building Ziblot has been a journey of passion, learning, and growth. From launching innovative products to partnering with Walmart Vriddhi, every step has been a valuable lesson. I am excited to continue this journey and leave a mark in the world of tech and electronics. With dedication, creativity, and the right support, dreams can truly turn into reality.
